Role & Responsibilities for Shift Engineer Role
- Get the planned preventive maintenance schedule ready and make sure every task is carried out on time.
- Visit job sites on a regular basis to spot any risks or faulty areas and address them quickly.
- Keep a tracker up to date with all assets still under warranty or covered by annual maintenance contracts.
- Review the work done by junior team members and step in with advice whenever they need it.
- Recruit, train, and help shift engineers and other maintenance staff grow in their roles.
- Set budgets and closely watch the service-level agreements and key performance indicators for both JLL and outside teams.
- Keep all service-level targets above the excellence mark.
- Make sure agreements are renewed on schedule, invoices are sent in on time, and all follow-ups for payment are done.
- Collect signatures for attendance and gather all details needed for the cost sheet each month.
- Check every vendor quote and invoice before approving them.
- Hold a meeting with vendors every month to review daily issues and confirm that corrections are put in place.
- Plan and roll out energy-saving projects across the facility.
- Keep history cards for each piece of equipment so there’s a reliable record of maintenance activity.
- Work with occupants to record monthly meter readings and double-check that all logbooks are filled as required.
